Meet NEKOKO

NEKOKO

A Dream Shaped Across Generations

NEKOKO began with a love for jewelry passed from mother to daughter. The name comes from the jewelry brand first created by Rachel’s mother, Lisa, whose decades in the jewelry world shaped Rachel’s earliest understanding of beauty, craftsmanship, and design.

Growing up surrounded by gemstones, sketches, and finished pieces, Rachel came to see jewelry as more than adornment. It was a way to hold memory, emotion, and the quiet joy of creation.

Between Cultures, Cities, and Stories

Rachel came to the United States in her teens, carrying with her an appreciation for Asian design traditions while forming her own perspective through life in Los Angeles and New York.

During her years studying philosophy in New York, she began creating jewelry of her own. Philosophy shaped the way she saw beauty — not only as something visual, but as something connected to meaning, memory, identity, and the moments that make a life feel personal.

DESIGN

Natural Gemstones, Refined Lines

At the heart of NEKOKO is a fascination with natural gemstones — their color, character, and individuality. Each stone carries its own presence, and often becomes the starting point of a design.

Our work moves between bold silhouettes and refined details, with a love for pieces that feel expressive yet timeless. From vivid colored stones to strong, sculptural lines, each creation is designed to feel personal, elegant, and lasting.

MEANING

Jewelry Made to Remember

For Rachel, jewelry is one of the most intimate ways to preserve a feeling. A piece can mark a beginning, a celebration, a loved one, or a chapter that should never fade.

Through NEKOKO, she hopes to share the joy she feels when each piece comes to life — creating jewelry that allows its wearer to return to a memory again and again, simply by wearing it.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Artistry Brought to Life in Gold

In exploring different forms of jewelry expression, Rachel found a special connection with champlevé enamel. This traditional technique allows color, symbolism, and intricate detail to live within gold, transforming personal stories into miniature works of art.

Working with skilled artisans, each enamel piece is carefully engraved, filled, fired, and finished by hand. From idea to final creation, NEKOKO brings together natural gemstones, traditional craftsmanship, and personal meaning in jewelry made to be treasured over time.
